Mr. Jasubhai K. Patel (J.K. Patel) has built an inspiring legacy through his remarkable contributions to business, agriculture, and community service. Born into a farming family, he developed a deep appreciation for hard work, discipline, and social responsibility from an early age. Over the years, he has successfully transformed these values into a distinguished career spanning more than four decades in the plastics manufacturing industry while remaining firmly connected to his agricultural roots and philanthropic pursuits.
Although raised in an agricultural environment, his professional interests initially led him to study interior design. After completing his education, he briefly ventured into the chemical business before establishing himself in the plastics industry. For nearly 40 years, he has successfully managed and expanded his business through a strong commitment to quality, integrity, and customer trust. Today, the company’s operations are efficiently managed by his two sons, both graduates in Business Administration, allowing him to devote more time to public service and industry leadership while ensuring the family business continues to grow.
Guided by the principle of “Seva Parmo Dharma” (Service is the Highest Duty), he has consistently dedicated his time and resources to initiatives that benefit society. Rather than slowing down after achieving business success, he chose to channel his experience into meaningful social causes. One of his notable initiatives is the establishment of a Gaushala (cow shelter), reflecting his commitment to animal welfare and traditional values.
His passion for social development also inspired him to establish the Watermen Trust, an initiative dedicated to promoting public welfare and responsible resource management. In addition, he served as the President of Lions Club Rajkot Midtown, where he actively participated in numerous healthcare, education, and community development programmes. His contributions have earned him widespread respect as a socially conscious leader committed to improving lives beyond the corporate sphere.
Despite his achievements in industry, he has remained closely associated with agriculture. He developed a farmhouse where he cultivates sandalwood, demonstrating his interest in sustainable farming and environmental conservation. His expertise has led to his appointment as a committee member of both the Gujarat State Sandalwood Association and the All India Sandalwood Association, where he contributes to promoting scientific cultivation and the sustainable growth of sandalwood farming.
His leadership extends to the industrial sector as well. He currently serves as the President of the Saurashtra Plastics Manufacturers Association, Rajkot, representing the interests of the plastics manufacturing industry and working towards its continued development. Recognising his extensive experience and commitment to quality standards, he has also been nominated to the Regional Advisory Committees of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Government of India, where he contributes to discussions on industrial standards and policy development.
Throughout his journey, he has demonstrated that true success is measured not only by business achievements but also by meaningful service to society.
